Entity-Relationship Diagrams (ERD)

Data models are tools used in analysis to describe the data requirements and assumptions in the system from a top-down perspective. They also set the stage for the design of databases later on in the SDLC.

There are three basic elements in ER models:

1) Entities are the "things" about which we seek information.

2) Attributes are the data we collect about the entities.

3) Relationships provide the structure needed to draw information from multiple entities.

a. In an Organization each of Corporation division is of many departments.

Each of the departments has many employees to it, but each employee works for only one department. The attributes of EMPLOYEE include

NAME, ADDRESS, BIRTHDATE and the attributes of DEPARTMENT are DEPT_NO and DEPT_NAME.

Solution:

b. A university have many colleges where as each college belongs to only that university. Each college is offering many degrees where as each degree is offered by only single college in that university. One college can have many students but one student can only be registered in one college. One student can have study many courses where as many courses can be taught by many students. 5 Marks

Solution:

c. A bank can have many branches where as each branch belongs to one bank. Each branch can approve many loans where as each loan can be approved by single branch.

Object Oriented Programming

In Assignment No.1 you developed Object Oriented Model for Library Management System, now you have to give its practical prototype in c++ mean you have to provide the solution of your first assignment and have to implement it in the form of classes in c++ also note that you don’t have to give actual implementation in c++ but simple stereotype (sketch) in the form of c++ code mentioning class names their parameters and functions with access specifiers you also have to show the relationship between classes in the form of inheritance mentioning the name of class/classes from which they have been derived in proper c++ syntax.

class Library

{

Private:

char name[50];

char interface[30];

double space[30];

public:

void store detail of data();

void add();

void Search();

void Return();

Char name[50];

Char Gender[50];

Char id[50];

Char address[50];

Public:

void Login();

void Logoff();

void search();

void Add();

void Borrow();

void return();

}

class staff : public library

{

Private:

Char name[50];

Char Gender[50];

Char id[50];

Char address[50];

Life there can be very difficult. It is expensive. Her parents are going to stop giving her money after college. This morning, she read in the paper about a job downtown. The job sounded interesting and offered good pay. She decided to get information about applying to the job.
"I want to apply for this job I read about in the paper. What do I need to do?" asked Anna. "You will need to fill out the application. Then, you will need to prepare a resume," said Anna's college counselor. "Do I need a cover letter?" asked Anna. "Yes, you should include that in your application as well," replied the counselor.
Anna filled out the application. Then she typed a resume. Her roommate was kind enough to edit it for her. She then typed her cover letter. When it was finished, she mailed her application. In a week she received a phone call.
"Anna, this is Mr. Smith. I am calling in reference to your application. We would like to invite you for an interview," said Mr. Smith. "Oh that is great. I can come any time this week," replied Anna. "How about tomorrow morning at ten?" asked Mr. Smith. "That is perfect. See you then," said Anna.
